“This is an event that people annually look forward to attending. The barbeque is a chance for people to meet new friends and become reacquainted with old friends,” the FHF president said.
This year marks the 28th annual beef barbeque fundraiser and it is scheduled for Saturday, August 14, from 4:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the Harrington Research Farm, civic number 1200 Brackley Point Road.
Only Prince Edward Island products are on the menu that includes barbequed steak, salad bar, new potatoes and strawberry shortcake. Proceeds from the meal and sale of African crafts will be used to aid farm families in East Africa.
The barbeque raises money for several FHF projects currently underway in Kenya. (Information on the current projects and others can be accessed at www.farmershelpingfarmers.ca)
