Russians okay US pork

The Russian market for North American pork continues to improve with approval for Tyson’s Logansport plant to resume exporting any pork from hogs slaughtered after Aug. 9.

The Russians imposed a ban on the plant in April.

In another Russian move, four more U.S. poultry plants have been cleared to market to Russia, leaving just five of 27 that were banned on Jan. 1 to gain clearance.

The January ban was based on the U.S. use of chlorine rinse.
