Bowater Mersey (Nova Scotia) is set to shut down again, this time for five weeks, and is again being blamed on market conditions.

Bowater Mersey (Nova Scotia) is set to shut down again, this time for five weeks, and is again being blamed on market conditions.
The mill is tentatively scheduled to shut down from April 15 to May 19, although some unionized personnel may be called in if orders come through.
It was decided in fall 2009 that Bowater Mersey would run 50 per cent of capacity, but since returning from the last shut down in Oct. orders have been surprisingly busy.
In a short release from the company, they state the market conditions, including the high value of the Canadian dollar, have made this latest shutdown necessary…
