Montague, PEI -

There'll be no fireworks for Santa here (Montague, Prince Edward Island) this Christmas.
Instead, the staff at the Montague town hall has opted to turn the budget for fireworks into donations of turkeys to the Southern Kings and Queens Food Bank.
"We're hoping other communities will join us with this idea towards helping others," says Kathy Sandford, in charge of festivals/special events for the town.
The fireworks are usually held during the town's Santa reception.
The staffers have issued a challenge to all eastern PEI communities to talk turkey this Christmas and make a similar donation to help out a family in need.
