Frank and Iva Mutch from Earnscliffe were recognized for their many years and involvement in breeding and showing Angus when the first of the beef cattle breeds took center stage at Old Home Week in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island Aug. 20. At one time, Mutch cattle were exhibited at the Royal Winter Fair, at Montreal, and throughout the Maritimes. Simmental and Angus were paraded out for the appraisal of judge Dale Easton of Saskatchewan. In the Simmental ring, the Sanderson family of York Point dominated the top awards. Competition in the Angus show was much heavier; however, well-known Angus breeders Ernie and Joanne Mutch of Earnscliffe had a strong day.
