Two of the four finalists for Holstein Canada’s 2011 Cow of the Year competition have Maritime connections.

Topics :
National Holstein Convention , Holstein Canada , Maritime , Antigonish , Nova Scotia

The award is presented annually at the National Holstein Convention. The four finalists selected represent what the Cow of the Year competition aims to achieve— recognize a Canadian-bred animal that is well-balanced; showcases longevity, production, genetic merit, strength of pedigree; and be a good Ambassador of Canadian genetics.

The two Maritime finalists are:

Lindenright Morty Delicio, bred and owned by Lindenright Holsteins of Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

Stadacona Outside Abel, owned by Eastside Holsteins of Frenchfort, and Lewisdale Holsteins of York, Prince Edward Island. (The cow was bred by Stadacona Holsteins, Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix, QC.)

Holstein Canada members will vote on the Cow of the Year.
