Master Breeder shields

The Weeks'—Elmer, Sandra and Blair—of Breadalbane, Prince Edward Island and Brian and Linda Yuill of Cobequid Holsteins, Upper Onslow, Nova Scotia are two of the 21 breeders who recently received their 2011 Master Breeder shields from Holstein Canada.

Master Breeder is the most coveted award for Holstein breeders. It distinguishes herds that have the best ratio for breeding cows that possess the complete package of high production and outstanding conformation, with high proficiency in reproduction, health and longevity.

Shield recipients will be honoured at a gala in Brandon, Manitoba on April 20.
