Prince Edward Islanders are being encouraged to show their pride in Atlantic Canada food products by participating in the Eat Atlantic Challenge on Sept. 2.

Agriculture Minister George Webster will be joining with agriculture ministers and residents in the other three Atlantic provinces who have committed to eat only Atlantic products on that day.

Those who take part in the challenge automatically qualify for a chance to win a gift basket of Atlantic Foods worth $250 donated by Co-op Atlantic.

Those who wish to participate can visit the Eat Atlantic Challenge website at www.eatatlantic.ca.

Webster said choosing local and Atlantic products keeps money and jobs in the region.
